A piece of church and European History...

Your keynote project is due Wednesday at 2:00. You may work on this at home.

Feel free to include other facts you've learned or researched about Martin Luther. Here are the ones we discussed in class:

1. Martin Luther wrote songs to teach the people about God.
2. He became a monk (type of pastor) after feeling like God was punishing him in a lightning storm.
3. He read the bible and learned that God saved us through Grace alone.
4. The church leaders were charging people money to go to heaven. They were handing out "passes"
5. Martin Luther disagreed with the church leaders and on October 31, 1517, he nailed his ideas and problems he had with the Catholic church.
6. The church leaders didn't like him and he had to run away from them and hide in Wartburg Castle.
7. He wrote many books that the church leaders burned.
8. He lived in the late 1400's and early 1500's.
9. Martin's actions would change the way people read the bible and followed the church leaders.
