Comment: School is a great place to learn through exploring, reading, asking questions, and observing. But school can feel like work! What do you think you will do this summer that will be like school? Will you read? Write? Explore? Research? What will you do that is unlike school? What would be another name for school? Maybe Learning Center or Activity Zone?
I am going to read and write during the summer. Those are both things you do at school. I am also going to go on vacations. That's unlike school. Another name for school could be The Place of Learning.

ReplyDeleteI'm totally going to read alot of Warriors books (or to make the text look like the logo, WarriorS). I totally don't want to copy everyone else's comments, so I think playing outside the WHOLE day is definitely unlike school (and the fact that we won't have our computers).

ReplyDeleteAlso, to add on to the like school category, I have a really cool science experiment: during the day, if your locked up in a dark room, will it make the human body feel sleepy? I'll tell you about it! I'll do it by putting myself in a dark room and seeing if I fall asleep in a period of time.

ReplyDeleteA thing that is unlike school would be the fact that I am going camping in Big Sur! A thing that will be like school will be the fact that I will still read. I think another name for school should be Education Heaven.
ReplyDeleteThis summer I will be going to Nebraska. My Grandma will be taking us to a farm. I will get to do things that I've never done before. So I will be learning but not in a classroom. I also will be going to Lincoln's Children Museum where I will be having fun but not in school. Summer is different because you don't have the same schedule like school. ReplyDeleteOf course Ian, you do science like everyday! Anyway, of course I would to writing, well there are 2 differnt types of writing. I will do my private journal at home! I will also do the writing where your like a write and have a blog, I will explore and take perspective pictures, and of course post post post post post post! And I agree with you Emily, Carter SHOULD go outside!!! And I will name the school... uhh... umm... hmm...Learning Place for KIDS!!! (LPK)

ReplyDeleteDuring Summer I will read, go to Mexico and Dance in a recital. I probably won't do much writing. I will be on the monkey bars a lot just as in school. I will DEFINITELY change mt bedtime by a couple hours!
ReplyDeleteI like to read so I will plan on reading this summer. I also plan on swimming in a lake and that is nothing like school. If I could name school it would be Fun Fun Center.

I will stay up much later. Maybe 10:00! I will be going on vacations. You don't get to do that during school. I will be reading and writing. I will be reading mostly the Warriors. I will be writing lots of stories.A different name for school is The Learning Place. Well, that's all I have to say.
